  Overall the lodge has a very nice mountain feel. The common room sitting areas are very cute and cozy a great place to relax since you can get tea and beer served in them. They common room has plenty of activity with guests but never felt crowded or that you could not enjoy your privacy.

  The place is dated and the old furniture was not a good old just run down and smelt. The halls smelt like urine. The room was plain the bathroom was nice, that bath perfect for me 5"2. The water would leak out so you have to leave the tap on. I wish there was a tv in the room. The hot tub was out of order the whole time I was there, very disappointed that was a highlight of the place when we booked it. The staff were lovely. The food ugh so good. Had dinner there twice, the lounge menu is reasonably affordable but the dinning was on the expensive side. The desserts are to die for. Wish they did have more options for dietary requirements.

  Aside from that unfortunately the hotel is using its rustic mountain charm as a reason to justify disrepair overall of the hotel. The Hot water heating does not work well and could be updated and not affect the charm. The plaster walls was carried over the crown molding and the trim on the wall separating the wallpaper and plaster just show poor cheap craftsmanship. The 2 pianos in the common areas are out of tune.

  I love Deer Lodge, we keep coming back every year. The staff were so friendly and understanding when we needed a room on the bottom floor because my Grandma had mobility issues. The rooms were nice and clean and the hot tub on the roof was very relaxing, it was at perfect temperature this year. We also ate at the restaurant, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly at all times and helpful on describing portion sizes and such. We will absolutely be coming back.

  Terrible hotel. Fireplace lounge area and restaurant smelled like an open sewer. Food was bad, service was pathetic. Dirty room.

  This was a nice location being so close to Lake Louise. The Lodge is rustic and could do with some updating. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and we where upgraded to a tower room with a queen bed.(something to do with the company we booked with) There is no elevator. We lugged our luggage up the the top floor room in the tower. Our room overlooked the sauna area. The room was quite hot and there was no A/C so we opened all the windows and left them open a little all night. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything we needed. We went down the front desk to check on some visitor info, the desk clerk was very helpful recommending to visit Lake Moraine first as it got busy really fast and you would have to "q" to visit that area. It was great information. Overall the Lodge is not too bad but could do with a update.

  The hotel is not being maintained; owners should be ashamed of this mess. I predict it will be closed soon. DO NOT STAY HERE !
